FAQ
How many pictures will we receive?
The number of edited photos you receive will vary based on the session type, but typically, you can expect between 20 and 50 final images. If you've booked a mini session, the final count will be lower, tailored to the shorter session time while still capturing meaningful moments.
What’s the best time to have a session with a newborn?
Every moment is worth preserving, but when it comes to newborn photography, timing can shape the experience. In the first 14 days, newborns tend to be their sleepiest, allowing for a greater variety of poses and delicate details that quickly fade as they grow.
Older babies may need more breaks during the session, but they also bring more alertness and expressive moments. No matter the timing, every stage has its own beauty—you’re simply choosing how you want to remember it
How do you ensure baby's safety during a session?
Safety is my highest priority in every session. My approach is entirely baby-led—your little one will never be placed in unnatural positions or asked to do anything they’re uncomfortable with. With years of experience working with newborns in and out of a NICU setting, as well as my background as an EMT, I bring a deep understanding of infant safety and handling. You can feel confident knowing that your baby is in expert, caring hands throughout the session.
How should we dress for our family session?
Your comfort is key to authentic, beautiful photos. Choose outfits that feel natural to you—there’s no need to step outside your style just for the session. The best images capture you at your most relaxed and true-to-self.
What tends to photograph well:
-Simple, solid-colored clothing
-Neutral shades
-Cool and warm tones
What can be distracting in photos:
-Bold patterns or large logos
-Bright neon colors
-Black, which can flatten depth and detail
How much do you edit the photos?
My approach to editing is simple: if it’s temporary, I can adjust it.
Examples of what I’ll edit:
Scratches, dry skin, redness, and, of course, that surprise pimple that appeared just in time for photos.
What I won’t edit:
Body shape, birthmarks, hair color, or anything that makes you uniquely you.
My goal isn’t to create a flawless, airbrushed version of you—it’s to capture an authentic, perfect reflection of who you are. And you are already perfect just as you are.
Do you provide any props or outfits?
Lifestyle sessions celebrate the beauty in the everyday moments at home—the warmth, connection, and unique details that make your family’s story special. Your family alone is more than enough to create stunning images.
While I don’t bring props, I’m happy to incorporate meaningful items you’d like to include, such as a Moses basket, a cherished teddy bear, or a special blanket.
Most families have an outfit in mind for their baby, but if needed, I have a few simple options available. I also typically bring a couple of blankets and swaddles to complement the session’s look while keeping everything natural and timeless.
